DaimlerChrysler: Decides on TRIPLAN’s software standard

TRIPLAN AG, which is listed on the SMAX, will in future with its TRICAD MS software provide the standard for the digital factory planning of DaimlerChrysler AG. As part of an infoday on 4 October 2001 in Sindelfingen, DaimlerChrysler AG’s “technical building services” (TGA) division outlined its cooperation with TRIPLAN to several suppliers.

Since the first successful projects in the digital factory planning cooperation between TRIPLAN and DaimlerChrysler, which was started three years ago, worldwide breakthrough has now been achieved. Since 2001 the TGA basic software, TRICAD MS, has been used in planning new DaimlerChrysler factories in Tuscaloosa, USA. Within a very brief period TRIPLAN developed an American version and provided it to the factory planner, Albert Kahn Associates, Detroit, to plan this large investment. TRICAD MS will in future be the digital factory planning software standard for DaimlerChrysler.

Developed by Venturis GmbH, a fully-owned subsidiary of TRIPLAN AG, the TRICAD MS software enables complete factory planning and all phases of its lifecycle to be recorded by integrating all specialist trades in a common data model.
Focusing on intelligent 3D planning means an essential increase in efficiency. The 3D model prevents early planning errors and enables considerable cost savings and a significant reduction in planning time (time to market).

This solution allows TRIPLAN to consistently set the course in the automobile industry. Development of additional factory planning applications is nearing conclusion (materials handling technology, stage technology etc) and supplements TRIPLAN’s factory planning product portfolio. TRIPLAN offers comprehensive consulting services (shares services) in addition to providing application software.
