Ad-hoc Announcement of TRIPLAN AG pursuant to §15 Securities Trading Act

Improved results in 2003 and extraordinary income from loan write-off

Bad Soden, 02.04.2004
TRIPLAN AG, an engineering service and solutions provider in plant construction and building technology, has announced its interim figures (according to IAS) for 2003: They show that total output fell for cyclical reasons by 14 % to 30.2 m EUR (previous year 35.2 m EUR). In spite of the fall in sales EBITDA in this period improved to - 329 TEUR (previous year - 904 TEUR), and EBIT from - 3,102 TEUR in the previous year to - 2,374 TEUR for 2003.

The NORD / LB loan write-off produced extraordinary income of 5.6 m EUR which led to a profit for the period of 2.7 m EUR.

Market softening made TRIPLAN AG’s fall in sales steeper than expected. The announced cost-reduction measures and consolidation of the IT division were to a large extent completed and the focus on direct sales implemented.

For the current year, 2004, TRIPLAN AG plans to consolidate its company goals by optimising and reorganising the engineering division, improving sales, cooperation and marketing operations in both divisions, increasing market presence and with a broader market realignment.

The company will also focus on cost management.
