Novartis hires alliance partner TRIPLAN:
New pharmaceutical plant/multipurpose plant in Switzerland
Bad Soden, 01 December 2004.
TRIPLAN Ingenieur AG, Basel, has won an order from Novartis AG to implement the conceptual design of a new pharmaceutical plant at its Swiss site with a total contract value of around SFr 1,500,000.00. The extension of another production plant for one of the most important drugs at the Basel site for around SFr. 500,000.00 has also been authorised.
For the new plant TRIPLAN Ingenieur AG has continued the already commissioned process engineering conceptual design from gross layout via the P+I diagram to the main equipment specifications. TRIPLAN is working on basic design (process engineering) and detail engineering for the second plant on the Basel site. The longstanding successful alliance partnership between Novartis AG and the TRIPLAN engineers will thus be continued and expanded into the future. Plans are already underway to add another order of the same size to the authorised expansion by the end of the project in mid-2005.
Professional software for project management and control
To implement large projects Novartis AG has likewise obtained the controlling and project management tool Hexaplan PM developed by TRIPLAN and Hoffmann-La Roche. This tool enables detailed cost control in every construction phase. Direct access to current project progress and informative trend analysis guarantee continual control within all project phases as well as automated analyses and plausibility checks. This has enabled Novartis in addition to Roche Pharma (Schweiz) AG and Nestlé S.A. to obtain a general licence for company-wide use.
