TRIPLAN is establishing itself worldwide with its patented Closed Coke Slurry System CCSS for clean and safe petroleum coke treatment. TRIPLAN develops and distributes innovative system technology for cost-effective and eco-friendly treatment of petroleum coke in the mineral industry.

 

The global mineral oil processing industry has to process heavier and heavier crudes, which also increases the proportion of heavy residues.

Thus, according to US studies, the percentage of heavy crudes in the crude oil market will grow by 50% within the current decade. Many experts believe that the sudden rise in production of light crude oils obtained by fracking in the US will not affect this long-term estimation. However, at the same time, the market for highly sulfurous residues and highly charged metallic residues is shrinking because of environmental concerns since these can be hardly used as fuel (for power plants or deep sea vessels ) for environmental reasons.

 

CCSS eliminates pollutant emissions.

A possible solution is to offer conversion processes that break down these residues into useful light products and petroleum coke, similar to the delayed coking process. In this process the newly produced gaseous and liquid products remain in the conventional refinery for further processing, while the petroleum coke is hydraulically extracted from the coking chambers in regular process cycles and treated outside the refinery.
